There’s a story out about it, so I suppose I can go ahead and confirm it. It’s true. Senator John McCain will be rolling out endorsements over the next few days. These are convented endorsements that will end Romney’s chances of a comeback and surprisingly eat into Huckabee’s niche.

Senator Chambliss and Senator Isakson, both from Georgia, are confirmed by the Washington Post blog.

According to blog post popular Republican and Governor Sonny Predue, also from Georgia, Governor Bob Riley of Alabama and Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour are all on the “wish list.”

What the journalist and readers don’t know: these are all confirmed and coming.

Tomorrow will be California’s very own Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will endorse in the early morning. Stunning. McCain’s lead there will only widen thus working around the odd rules of California’s delegate divvying up rules, ensuring McCain secures the maximum number of delegates on Super Tuesday.

A win in Illinois, New York, Connecticut, California, and New Jersey are inevitable. Huckabee’s base will strongly be affected by these endorsements.

Oh, and heads up: more endorsements are coming up.

I hear we got a surprise in Tennessee on February 2nd, the same day Georgia’s big affair is scheduled.

Last night’s major loss was probably a surprise to the Romney camp. While McCain had the endorsements from Senator Mel Martinez, which frankly came at no surprise, and Governor Charlie Crist, there were several factors that said Romney could win.

It could be the polls, which RealClearPolitics (which averages major polls together), had Romney at +1.0. The polls in Romney’s favor were polls conducted later. There was a Romney surge with the exiting of Fred Thompson. McCain was on the declined and Governor Crist’s endorsement came late when the news couldn’t cycle it in time. The economic woes of Floridians had pundits, including my sometimes level-headed friend Cory Thompson, rushing to point to Romney as the successor for Republican Party.

As my friend, Josh Trevino, points out the numbers when analyzed look great for Romney. It looks like Romney wins, according to the exit polling, in what the base was around about 2003*.

Interestingly enough, McCain is more the South Carolina establish man this time around. His schedule is tight and he’s made a comeback worthy of the history books. South Carolina is sacred for Republicans because it, in modern times, must be won by the eventual nominee. If McCain pulls off South Carolina - other candidates may as well pack their bags for home.

The Senator sounded full of energy and unusually excited going to his fourth event for the day, stepping off the plane onto the town of Rock Hill, South Carolina. McCain is also sporting a full entourage touring the first primary in the South with native Senator, Lindsay Graham, Attorney General Henry McMaster, and a his latest major endorser, Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.

This was major news for the Conservative community as Coburn is a champion for pro life movement, a staunch opponent of this years comprehensive immigration reform, and runs a close second in the Senate for being one who seeks to reduce pork spending. Coburn was elected in Oklahoma as an anti-establishment candidate but in his time of service in the Senate, he has become a hero of the grassroots and Conservatives alike.

Coburn’s endorsement comes as no surprise for me as many of us remember the backlash Senator McCain received for the comprehensive immigration bill and Coburn’s articulate message to then heal wounds within the party.
