Novak and Akbar

Recently I wrote a piece entitled, “Huckabee, Give Me a Break.” Because of my roots in the theological community, and more specifically the Southern Baptist community, I was aware of the political pulse of the largest evangelical group.

Syndicated Columnist and media guru Robert Novak touched on this point earlier today. He’s always precise and very sure of his all-too-reliable sources. The man is a living legend and I stand as a great admirer of the sources he has obtained over his 5 decade tenure over Washington D.C. and the breaking stories he has written.

Baptist Not on Board (Washington Post) // Baptist brethren split on Huckabee (Chicago Sun Times)

This is a prime example of how New Media allows individuals to sometimes be 17 days ahead of a legendary writer. There is not credit that belongs to me, but this stands as a victory for a revolution in media.

I encourage you all to blog about what you know and give your insightful analysis.

On the substance:

Huckabee is the dream candidate for the democrats and although Novak cites Huckabee’s “surge” as “real” and in the same breath calls Thompson the “X Factor” in Iowa, I don’t believe people will be so easily influenced to vote for Huckabee in the primary. He has a record and information is streaming all over the web.

Judge Paul Pressler told Novak that “I would never do anything to hurt him.” Novak went on to write, “He did not go so far as endorsing Huckabee for president, and that sends a strong message to conservative evangelicals.”

Expect many Southern Baptist to come out of the wood work. I predicted this over a month ago and wrote about it on the third of this month. We have a tradition of ending our own when it’s time. It is time. Huckabee doesn’t, or at least didn’t when we needed him most, support Conservative and fundamental (theologically speaking) cores inside of the Christian Doctrines.

It would do well for the Religious Right to reexamine their choice.

You could be the next blogger whom Novak or another follows.

Interesting. I think I’ve come to the point of agreeing with you on Huckabee.

I support Thompson, despite his so-called “flop.” If I voted for anyone else in the primary, I could never forgive myself…

Regardless, I’ll support whomever the Republican nominee is.

I sure hope your right, because as I’ve said the Huckster is the republican Jimmy Carter. He would be a disaster as the GOP nominee.

I’m just worried, I listen to a lot of talk radio, and it scares me the amount of Huckleberry backers I hear calling the shows, defending their man.

Good read. Unfortunately for Huckabee his record is fast coming on the net, and mainstream media is picking it up too. That Chuck Norris endorsement really didn’t do Huck very well, it just cast him into th spotlight. It will be interesting to see what happens there.

    Nailing Huckabee To The Cross…

Like others, I’ve written about Mike Huckabee playing the religion card and the fact that I think as a presidential candidate he will “scare the living daylights” out of moderates and independents. I even wrote about Huckabee’s warm and fuzzy Chr…

    Oh and P.S.

The following is from a blog http://seeingredaz.wordpress.com

They have decided to DELETE and Censor all comments unless they are reflective of their liberal horse-shit views. They had too many opposing views and decided they didn’t like that. Please go pay them a visit…and well you get the idea.

    Notice:
Since its inception, Seeing Red AZ has had a policy of printing all comments, regardless of whether we agreed with their content. The comment area provides a site for lively discussion and thoughtful opposing views.

This afternoon, we were inundated with a rash of negative, profane and sometimes threatening comments. After checking, it was found they emanated from a common source and were solicited by a single blogger. Consequently, we have deleted several of those postings and will no longer accept such comments. Opposing views are welcomed, but must be within the parameters of good taste.

You are forgetting the most important opinion on WHO WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT. GOD!! Whoever God wants in the WhiteHouse is who it will be. You admire a reporter… but I tell you I don’t admire anyone who compromises their integrity for their own EGO. MARK MY WORDS AS I TELL THEM TO YOU NOW…. MIKE HUCKABEE WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!

  8. Andrew Says:

Ali, it depends on how evangelicals are organized. If they are not on the internet and are dependent on local ministers and television or newspaper, they could be swayed to Huckabee. However, Iowa is meaningless for the candidates unless they hit border cities like Omaha.

  9. David Says:

ChildofGod33, You’ve got to stop using the “God” card. Who named you prophet to say what is going to happen? I’m a Christian NOT voting for Huckabee…what does that tell you. Quit pulling the religion card…it’s not fair to all the other candidates who are also Christians.

    “Can I get an Amen?”

I once commented that I felt you were a honest individual Ali. Ignorance is bliss but I am ignorant no more. Your evaluations are shallow and self serving. Tailored to fit your needs. Too lazy to do the research required and too PC to defend your alleged Christian beliefs.

  12. David Says:

    oooo…Rob. You sure about that?

    Alan Keyes vs. Obama ‘004.

Bush got beat by 10 points in Illinois. Keyes by 40.
